Wyke wins 31 awards at Global Cheese Awards

Wyke Farms, a UK’s cheese producer and milk processor, was once again winners for multiple categories at this year’s 2014 Frome Agricultural & Cheese Show, taking home 31 awards for its cheddar, including UK Supreme Cheese Champion, Best English Cheddar, Best Somerset Cheddar, Best UK Creamery Cheddar, Best Farmhouse Cheddar Block and Highest Number of Points in Show Champion.

The company notes that it has already won 99 awards this year, including 34 Golds. It won gold for its vintage cheddar, mature cheddar and extra mature chheddar and a further eight gold awards in other categories (see below) including in the best wedding cake from cheese and for its salted butter and double cream. In addition, Wyke Farms also received 15 silver, bronze and highly commended accolades including for best European cheddar, low fat cheese as well as the best cheese sandwich.
