Yakult Danone India plan milk facility
Yakult Danone India Pvt Ltd, a joint venture between Japan’s Yakult Honsha and Group Danone, is setting up a manufacturing facility in Haryana to produce fermented milk beverages in the country.
The facility, based at the Haryana State Industrial Development Corporation, will have an installed capacity of one million bottles per day, and will begin production in 2007.
Kiyoshi Oike, managing director, Yakult Danone India Private Ltd said in a recent interview with the Hindu Business Line, “Our new facility is a strategic move towards globalisation, necessitated by our growing customer base in Asia and the relevance of this product for the health of Indians. Rai, Haryana is an ideal location for this venture as it provides excellent infrastructure facilities, access to the big market of Delhi, and the strong support of the government of Haryana.”
