Euronext plans dairy derivatives

Euronext, a European exchanges operator is planning a range of dairy futures and options in Spring 2015, according to Reuters news agency. These will include derivatives for butter, skimmed milk powder and whey powder. The EU’s quotas system will be removed bu then and the growing global demand is expected to offer an increase in output and greater volatility in pricing. Euronext says it wants to create a price benchmark for Europe for the products. The new contracts will be in euros and linked to physical delivery to warehouses around Rotterdam, Hamburg and Antwerp, Reuters notes.
