Arla gains Lidl contract

Dairy giant Arla has had some good news, with the gain of a supply contract to Lidl for organic milk in Germany for “several million kroner,” the company says.

Arla will supply organic whole milk from Hobro Dairy Centre to Lidl’s 19 warehouses in Northern Germany and organic butter from Holstebro Dairy to all 3,500 of the chain’s stores in Germany. Arla products are now also listed in Lidl stores in Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Germany. Consequently, Arla is well on the way to utilising the 347 million kg organic milk the company receives in Denmark.
