SalzburgMilch opens new plant in Austria

In Austria, SalzburgMilch dairy opened its new Werk 2 cheese plant in Lamprechtshausen. There was an official opening with 500 invited guests, who were introduced to the new plant. It was then opened to the general public, attracting more than 5,000 visitors.
On the route through the production, ripening rooms and the packing terminal the visitors were informed about production methods and saw first hand f the new operation performance, with processing of five different types of milk and full traceability of all products to ensure that the highest quality standards can be met.
In the new plant, the latest production methods are used alongside traditional methods. Therefore copper pavers are used for cheese production, while hay-milk specialities “Original Bergkäse” (original mountain cheese) and “Salzburger Emmentaler” are made into cheese from raw milk as well.
