WORLDWIDE – Kraft Foods has said that net revenues were up 5.5% in 2004.

The news came as the company released its results for the year and outlook for 2005 and it said that 2004’s “aggressive actions” helped revenues rise 7% in the last quarter.

Chief executive Roger Deromedi said: “Kraft enters 2005 with improved momentum, fuelled by strong revenue growth.” Kraft said that growth was driven by new products, increased marketing and commodity-driven price increases in categories such as cheese and foodservice. In the final quarter of 2004, it sold of both its UK dessert business and US yogurt activities.
