The International Dairy Federation (IDF) World Dairy Summit has announced it will take place from 29 October – 3 November 2017 in Belfast at the Waterfront conference centre.

Over 1,000 dairy experts from across the globe are expected to gather to share their in-depth knowledge of dairy and bring the audience up to speed on the latest developments in the industry.

The World Dairy Summit will feature eight conferences focusing on marketing; nutrition and health; dairy policy and economics; dairy science and technology; food safety; farm management; animal health and welfare; and the environment. The event also includes several high profile conferences including the IDF World Dairy Leaders’ Forum and the IDF Forum, as well as a series of technical tours showcasing the UK industry’s state of the art infrastructures.

Dr Judith Bryans, president of IDF and chief executive of Dairy UK, says, “The work of IDF is a shining example of what global collaboration can accomplish. The UK has always been a pillar of IDF and we are very grateful for the opportunity to bring the industry together, celebrate our achievements, identify our challenges and opportunities and map out our next steps.

“The IDF World Dairy Summit is the number one event for all dairy stakeholders across the world and I have every confidence that the 2017 edition will be a real success.”

Dr Mike Johnston, Northern Ireland director of Dairy UK, adds, “The dairy industry is part of the fabric of Northern Ireland and we have a tremendous opportunity to show it to the world. With the IDF World Dairy Summit, we will put Belfast front and centre and bring industry leaders and key decision-makers to Northern Ireland.“
