UK – Supermarket chain Sainsbury’s has announced that it is to expand its trial of non GM milk by Christmas this year, prompting claims by environmental group Greenpeace that its anti-GM campaign reaping results.

Earlier this summer Sainsbury’s announced that it was to trial non-GM milk in 105 of its stores, and following successful sales it has decided to increase this trial to include 190 of its stores.

Greenpeace announced the decision following a series of campaigns against the supermarket, which it claimed was “supporting the import of thousands of tonnes of GM feed into the UK every month”.
