MDC goes for girls
UK – The Milk Development Council (MDC) has said that a new campaign next year will aim to increase milk consumption amongst teenage girls.
Research commissioned by the group found that 75% of girls aged 11 to 16 are ‘skimping’ on dairy products and risking developing osteoporosis.
The new campaign will promote the benefits of milk, cheese and yogurt to teenage girls. The MDC blames a lack of knowledge among girls and their mothers for low dairy consumption and said that many are unaware of the optimum daily intake levels. It also said that many believed that all dairy products contain high levels of fat.
