Germany’s new cooperative DMK has announced its plans to amalgamate powder and butter production departments. DMK’s Struckhausen factory and the wholly owned subsidiary Milchof Magdeburg are scheduled for closure due to insufficient milk volumes in the region of Madgeburg, and better utilisation of milk at adjacent sites.

“It is a matter of urgent necessity to bundle our production competencies and adapt the site structure to future developments in milk volume in order to secure cost leadership,” Sonke Voss, managing director of operations for DMK says. A total of 156 jobs will be affected by the restructuring of the sites.
