Bega bags loan

AUSTRALIA – Cheese processing co-operative Bega Cheese is to receive a A$20 million (12.1 million euro) loan from the New South Wales government.

Bega, which claims to be Australia’s largest cheese maker, will use the loan to double its cheese processing and cutting output.

Bega currently exports 7,500 tonnes of Cheddar cheese and 3,500 tonnes or whey powder each year to countries including the UK, Japan, Europe and the USA.
