Nestlé Chile to open powder plant in 2013
Nestle’s Chilean division is set to open its 300 million litre factory in southern Chile in March 2013, Claudio Sarah, head of strategic dairy policy, Nestle Chile, told the audience at the recent World Dairy Summit in Parma, Italy. The Greenfield plant will produce milk powder and infant formula for the export market, he says. Part of the $500 million (EUR363.8m) investment is in order to soak up some of the 400 million surplus litres Nestle collects in the country currently.
