CoolBrands on the acquisitions trail

CANADA – Canadian dessert company CoolBrands is in talks to take over two new brands.

The company has set aside 36 million euro for acquisitions. These will include two dessert brands, although it will not disclose which ones.

The company sells desserts under licensed brand names. These include the General Mills brand Betty Crocker and Cadbury Schweppes’ Welch’s.

Canada’s National Post reports that brands likely to be taken over include independent names Blue Bell, North Star and Kemps.
