GERMANY – Tetra Pak’s Tetra Top carton with screw top opening has been honoured in the German Packing Industry awards.

The product won acclaim following first months of marketing in Germany. Among other products, the 250ml to one litre container range is used for all deliveries of Nestle’s Boren Marken extended shelf life milk and in a 250ml size for Nestle’s double cream.

German Packing Industry judges said that the format combined the advantages of the carton (protection from light and multi-layer hygiene barriers) with easy handling and pouring through its rounded shape and tube opening for easy pouring.

Also praised by the judges was Tetra Pak’s safety concept on the screw top, which entails the removal of a seal before initial opening.

Another plus point, according to the judges, is the delivery of carton material to the filling stations in easy to handle rolls.

The cartons are also establishing themselves in England where the new Robert Wiseman Dairies plant at Droitwich Spa is marketing its Fresh’n’lo dairy drink in 250ml Tetra Top cartons.
