MMO purchases North Bradon Farm
Milk Marque Developments (MMD), the processing arm of the UK’s largest farmers’ co-operative, has purchased Somerset cheesemaker North Bradon Farm from Murray Vernon Holdings.
The company says the acquisition will expand its presence in the growing UK premium Cheddar market and adds a good quality West Country Cheddar maker to its existing Welsh business, Aeron Valley Cheese.
North Bradon Farm currently produces 4,000 tonnes a year of traditionally made farmhouse Cheddar and territorial cheese under supermarket labels and its own brand. MMD says it plans to invest in the operation to increase capacity at the plant.
