Ireland’s Dairy Product Research Centre (DPRC) has selected Solartron viscometers for a new pilot plant under construction as part of a powdered milk project.
To select the most suitable viscometers for the plant, the DPRC conducted a series of trials involving sugar syrup, which is easily recycled.
As a result of these tests, it chose Solartron’s 7827 vibrating element and Covimat rotating bob in-line process viscometers.
The pilot plant will incorporate hygienic 3A-authorised versions of both viscometers. When construction is complete, the DPRC will run milk powder processing trials in conjunction with University College Dublin until late 1999.
