Cashing-in on the fame of the Swiss army knife is new Swiss army cheese. The range features a variety of spreading cheeses in 70g ring pull cans.
The concept has been developed by the Swiss cheese marketing co-operative. The range is already said to be selling well in the US at prices equivalent to r1.8 per can.
Swiss soldiers used to carry tinned cheese as part of their iron rations when on manoeuvre. They can still, apparently, but are now expected to buy their own.
