R&R names Bigley, buys Rolland of France

R&R Ice Cream, the UK’s largest ice cream manufacturer, has appointed Bob Bigley as its first director of corporate development. During a business career spanning nearly 30 years, Bob has held director level posts in the property, banking and accountancy sectors. James Lambert, CEO of R&R Ice Cream, says: “Bob has financial and corporate development expertise gained at the highest level and I am delighted he is joining the team. In this new post, he will be working alongside Andy Finneran, our chief finance officer, on R&R’s acquisition programme across mainland Europe.”
Meanwhile, the company has confirmed its purchase of the Rolland ice cream business in France, which has created the second largest ice cream group in supermarket sales in each of the UK, Germany and France, selling more than 500 million litres of ice cream a year.
