Showcase for innovative speed

It’s the end of September already and we are fully into the season of trade shows and exhibitions. I have been to visit the Global Cheese Show in the UK, and went to visit Drinktec in Munich as well. It is good to see that dairy processors and their suppliers are not resting on their laurels when it comes to innovation. I found that ingredients suppliers were rethinking delivery of familiar ingredients. Tate & Lyle, for example, was offering its Splenda sweetener in a portable, highly concentrated format, while Doehler was providing its fruit concentrates in encapsulated formats. On the equipment side, GEA has a way to provide processors with new ultrapure technologies demanded, while still using familiar techniques such as separation.

In order to keep up to speed with this increasing rate of change, it seems suppliers to the dairy industry will keep pace with our increasingly swift FMCG sector.
