Here’s to the carriers

Dairy is often paired with other items to enhance the final product. Think of a lasagna without ricotta and mozzarella (I acknowledge the other type with white sauce, but as a former Long Islander I must reject this), or nachos without a hefty grating of cheddar on top. Ditto a coffee with a creamy froth of milk. They’re just not the same without the addition of dairy.
My son asked me last week if we could go on a New York style pizza hunt here in London. As carriers go, is there anything more splendid than a 22-inch, thin crust pizza topped with tomato sauce and mozzarella? There is not. I agreed. He did the research, and this is how we found ourselves in the cellar in the Seven Dials Market, eating Bad Boy Pizza Society slices. Now, where they went wrong is putting honey on their pepperoni pizza, but the margherita was well worth the visit. We discussed getting an entire pie, but opted not to. After we had the various slices, we agreed that ordering a full pie and then getting the leftovers to take home would have been the best option. Next time.
We still mourn the loss of Paradise Slice Pizza Shop on Brick Lane, a short-lived but pitch-perfect version of a New York pizzeria, complete with pizza stands. However, the staff at Bad Boy informed me that they are going on a work trip to New York next year. If they bring back the recipe for meatball/sausage half and half pizza from their travels, 2025 is going to be an amazing year.
That being said, next year is going to be amazing no matter what, as our Dairy Industries Expo 2025 is being hosted at NAEC Stoneleigh, 29-30 October. Mark your calendars and prepare for an unforgettable experience. For information, please contact Samantha Bull at [email protected]. The countdown to Dairy Industries EXPO 2025 has officially begun. I can’t wait!
