Leche Pascual to double production
Spanish dairy firm Leche Pascual plans to double its milk production capacity at its plant in Gurb, Catalonia (north east Spain), over the next two years.
Company president Tomas Pascual says that the Gurb plant, which currently produces 67 million litres of milk per year, is not working at full capacity. Production will be increased by 40 million litres in 2008 and by another 40 million in 2009 to reach around 140 million litres per annum.
Currently, Gurb’s turnover represents 17% of Leche Pascual’s total turnover. In 2005, Leche Pascual installed up-to-date PET format bottling technology for its UHT milk at the plant, thus introduced such technology in the Catalonia region.
