Brazil dairy set to grow by 10 per cent
Brazil’s dairy industry will grow by nearly 10% a year, according to advisers on the spin-off of JBS’s Vigor business, according to a report on website Agrimoney.com. Cheese, with growth of 14% a year, will be at the forefront of the boom, although in size, at R$5.6bn, it will still be behind the yogurt market, which is expected to increaseby 10.0% a year to R$7.33bn, bankers at Banco Bradseco said in the news item.
The overall dairy market will expand to R$39.9bn, from R$22.9bn in 2010. The forecasts reflect the assumption that Brazilians, whose milk consumption per capita is half the world average, will continue to increasingly consume dairy.
