Want Want, a leading food company in China, has ordered three new machines from the Oystar Group. This order consists of two model EF 320 form, fill and seal machines from Oystar Erca, each of which will produce 20,000 yogurt cups per hour at the Want Want site there. Want Want will then start up a Flexline FL 8/8 CA from Oystar Hamba: in the aseptic configuration, that machine will fill and seal 115-ml cups with pudding.

Oystar CMO Dieter Steinbach, who is responsible for the Chinese market, says: “The machines for Want Want are Oystar’s biggest single order from China so far and represent a further step along our path of growth in the packaging business.”

Want Want is the biggest manufacturer of rice crackers worldwide and of flavoured milk in China. The company generated a total of $3 billion (€2.3bn) in sales in 2011. With the decision to add yogurt to its product portfolio, the company also signed a consulting agreement with the Japanese milk and confectionery manufacturer Morinaga Milk Industry. In accordance with that agreement, the two companies will cooperate in the use of technologies for the production of yogurt.
