Amul heads to US market
India’s Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which markets its dairy products under brand ‘Amul’, says it will begin manufacturing some of its dairy products in the US over the next six to eight months, with a view to possibly setting up its own site in the US later. The company plans to quadruple its current annual exports to the US with the move, and will also help alleviate duties and taxes on imports into the country.
