Delamere Dairy has launched its fresh goats’ milk into supermarkets in Hong Kong – the product debuted on shelf and the speciality dairy now airfreights weekly shipments to the country, which is seeing a growing interest in dairy products. Delamere Dairy opened its Far East office in 2011 and already sells long life goats’ milk and long life cows’ milk in both the Delamere Dairy brand and private labels to countries in the Far East. Its products can be found on supermarket shelves in China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Japan.

Ed Salt, MD at Delamere Dairy comments, “There has been a positive uptake of Delamere’s products in the Far East where the consumption of dairy products is exploding. As well as the now established supply of UHT milks, we are working with our Far East customers on a new product development programme to supply a wider range of dairy products including yogurt drinks and cheeses in various formats to meet market demands. Export now accounts for over 10% of our business and we expect it to be around 20% by the end of the year.”

The provenance of dairy products from Europe is a key selling point, as Far East markets hold this in high esteem. Delamere Dairy is looking to develop this activity in 2014.
