FrieslandCampina starts Vietnam construction

Dairy cooperative FrieslandCampina Vietnam has commenced construction of a dairy zone in Moc Bac Commune, Duy Tien District, Ha Nam Province.

The partnership between FrieslandCampina, De Heus, Wageningen UR, The Friesian Agro Consultancy, Fresh Studio, Ha Nam Government and the Dutch Government within the Facility for Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Food Security (FDOV) is expected to go through 2018. It is part of the company’s plans to create and develop dairy zones for family farms, contribute to food security, create jobs and reduce milk imports in the country.

Three dairy zones are expected to be established by 2018 in Vietnam, with two pilot dairy farms in each zone, which will each have 50 dairy farms, capable of producing at least seven million kg of fresh milk per year.
