Swissmilk and the Swiss Farmer and Country Women’s Association (SBLV) distributed milk to over 360,000 school children in 2650 locations throughout Switzerland, as part of the 14th annual ‘Pausenmilchtag’ (Pause for Milk dat). This reached around 40 per cent of Swiss schoolchildren. They received an informative brochure with recipes and things to enjoy in a school break.

Milk Pause Day was begun in order to emphasize the importance of milk and milk products in the diet of children.

“The enormous participation of the Swiss schools clearly shows that the ‘Pausenmilchtag’ and a healthy diet are more important than ever before, particularly in light of the many overweight children and malnourished youngsters today,” says Hans Peter Kern, president of Swiss Milk Producers.
