Nordmilch and Valio cooperate on marketing
Nordmilch in Germany and Valio, Finland’s leading milk processor, have signed a marketing cooperation agreement that will see both organisations selling each other’s products in their respective countries.
At first, Nordmilch will be using its distribution and established outlets in Germany to market the Valio wellness products such as Evolus, which claims blood pressure reduction benefits through bioactive peptides that are released through digestion of casein by Lactobacillus helviticus.Evolus is already marketed through licences in Switzerland and Portugal.
Two other Valio products to be given a sales boost under the arrangement are the Finnish dairy’s probiotic LGG Gefilus milk drink (with Lactobacillus rhamnosus strain GG) and its lactose-free UHT semi-skim milk .
But Valio CEO Harry Salonaho indicates that there could also be symbiosis in production, with the respective plants of both organisations concentrating more on products they can produce most efficiently. It is understood that international activities of both cooperatives will also be shared under the new agreement.
