Arla Foods to feature in new BBC series
Arla Foods, its farmer owners and employees, are set to feature in a new BBC Two series exploring how some of the UK’s favourite foods are produced.
The three-part series, ‘Inside The Factory: How Our Favourite Foods Are Made’, will be hosted by Greg Wallace and Cherry Healey. The series will reveal how dairy, bread and confectionery products are made, with the dairy episode airing on Thursday 7 May. The programme will look at the production of milk, butter and cheese.
Ash Amirahmadi, head of milk and member services, Arla Foods UK, says, “We’re excited to showcase our passion for dairy. It has provided us with an opportunity to bring to life our dedication and our attention to detail for consumers, from farm to fridge. The programme shows how being a farmer-owned company means we are constantly innovating to deliver the best returns for our farmers, but also ensuring that our products retain their natural goodness and taste great.”
Jane Dyson, Holly Green Farm and Arla farmer owner, says, “We have always been passionate about dairy farming and producing the best quality milk. We welcomed the opportunity to have Greg and Cherry visit the farm and be able to take them through how we care for and milk our cows.”
Rob Whiteley, cheese process manager, Arla Foods, says, “Dairy is a staple of the British diet and it’s good to see an eye-opening TV documentary showcasing the skill and expertise that goes into making high quality dairy products for consumers on behalf of dairy farmers.”
