First Milk appoints Brian Mackie

Following the recent departure of Gerry Sweeney from the role of finance director, First Milk has named Brian Mackie as chief operating officer. He initially joined First Milk as a non executive director in June 2015 and has been closely involved with the business for some months.

Mike Gallacher, CEO at First Milk, says, “Brian has proved an outstanding addition to the First Milk Board over the last few months and we have been working very closely together on delivering the turnaround plan for the company. He has significant and broad business experience, strong leadership and high energy levels, so I am delighted that he has agreed to step into this key executive role.

“In his new role Brian will lead the finance, legal and HR functions and also drive our corporate development agenda. In his new role, he will continue to sit on the First Milk Board and an announcement regarding succession into his Non Executive role will follow.”
