Skimmed success in Korea

SOUTH KOREA – Sales of skimmed milk in South Korea are booming as consumers warm to the belief that low-fat dairy products are beneficial to health and diet.

Seoul Milk Company saw sales up 153 per cent last year compared to 2003. Indications are that women in their 20s with a high interest in their diet and women in their 30s who dislike normal flavour milk are the top consumers.

Other dairy producers have begun introducing skimmed milk products with added vitamins and minerals to entice more buyers.
