Arla skyr wins product of the year

Arla Foods’ skyr has won as Product of the Year in the yogurt category in the UK. Product of the Year is the UK’s largest independent survey into product innovation, with more than 11,500 consumers voting in a survey conducted by TNS.

Across the board, the product of the year winner must showcase innovation in the convenience and health sector, in addition to provenance. Consumers say Arla skyr is leading the way in yogurt category in this regard, with a fat free, reduced sugar and high protein delicious silky texture, containing 30% less sugar when compared with similar products in the market place, the company notes.

Sarah Baldwin, vice president of marketing at Arla Foods UK, says, “This award is so important to Arla as it has been voted for by consumers. We are so pleased that Arla skyr has been recognised as an innovative, healthy and nutritious yogurt and that consumers are loving the new option in the yogurt aisle.

“We continue to focus on innovation to create value add products which create new ways for consumers to enjoy the benefits of dairy, whilst giving back to our 3,000 UK farmers and 12, 800 across Europe.”
