Medina Dairy announces Sainsbury’s contract

Medina has been awarded a contract to supply fresh milk and cream to Sainsbury’s in the UK. The contract will commence from July 2017 and will see Medina process fresh milk and cream at its BRC accredited Watson’s Dairy located in Hampshire for supply to a proportion of Sainsbury’s stores in the South of England.

Sheazad Hussain, chief executive at Medina Dairy, says, “Medina Dairy’s vision is to increase our presence in the larger UK retail and foodservice market including the national multiples. We are therefore delighted to have been selected by Sainsbury’s to supply them with fresh milk and cream from our Watson dairy.

“The new Sainsbury’s contract reflects Medina’s ongoing commitment to investigating in our processing and supply chain capabilities, management team and systems so that we remain a credible and competitive alternative in a consolidating market. It follows on from our securing of 100 million litres of fresh milk toll processing capacity at Severnside, which is delivering further opportunities for us to develop relationship with national retail and foodservice customers.”
