US co-ops merge

Prairie Farms Dairy and Swiss Valley Farms of Wisconsin and Minnesota, US are set to merge, under the name Prairie Farms Dairy. Five plans that produce cheese and whey powder are involved, and Swiss Valley farms CEO Chris Hoeger will continue to oversee their operation. Prairie Farms runs 35 plants and has 5,700 employees. The deal is expected to be completed in mid-2017.
