USA – Producers, processors, co-operatives and economists have welcomed the government’s plans for forward contracting.

At a briefing in Washington DC, representatives spoke in favour of the legislation, which is pending in both the US House of Representatives and the Senate.

“From dairy producers to co-ops, from private cheese plants to university economists, when you have a group this diverse all agreeing that passing this legislation is the right thing to do, it should give everyone confidence,” said International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) President and chief executive Connie Tipton.
