Americans abandoning low-carb lifestyle
USA – Consumers appear to be turning their back on low-carbohydrate diets, of which dairy products such as cheese are a key food, according to a new survey from InsightExpress.
The number of people joining up to such diets looks to have plateaued, while more than half of those embarking on the regime have given it up. Out of 500 people surveyed by the online research firm, less than 10% currently followed these diets.
The survey showed that from 80% of Americans who abstained from low-carb diets, less than one in five would consider buying low-carb products, with most of them saying that they thought it was an unhealthy way to eat.
