Arla inspects Allgäu business

Arla Foods is currently examining various strategic options for its business in the Allgäu region in Germany. Sale of the Bad Wörishofen and Sonthofen sites is not excluded.
Likewise, strategic partnerships with other companies could also come to fruition, according to Arla. The ultimate goal is a good, sustainable solution for the employees and contract milk suppliers, it says.
Production and sales of Emmentaler cheese is the focus of the product range in the Allgäu region, but it no longer corresponds to the strategic orientation of Arla in Germany and Europe.
The search for potential buyers is not under time pressure, as currently the organisation of the business, the quality of the products manufactured in the Allgäu, and the financial results are satisfactory, Arla notes.
