IDF welcomes new director general

On 12 February the IDF will welcome its new director general, Caroline Emond.

Emond has extensive experience within the industry, with 24 years’ experience in senior executive and public affairs roles in the private, public and the not-for-profit sectors behind her, including a role as executive director of Dairy Farmers of Canada. She will replace Nico van Belzen, who has served as director general of the IDF since 2012 and provided the IDF with expert guidance and leadership throughout his tenure.

Commenting on the appointment, current IDF president Dr Judith Bryans says, “Caroline is a fantastic candidate for the role of director general. Her leadership and enthusiasm for the industry will be a great asset to both the IDF and the wider industry, and I look forward to working with her. On behalf of the IDF Board would also like to offer our heartfelt thanks to Nico for his hard work and service to the organisation over the past six years and wish him all the best for the future.”

Commenting on her appointment as director general, Emond adds, “I am very excited to be taking up this role. The IDF’s unique ability to gain global consensus on key issues makes it the united voice of the international dairy sector. That, coupled with its respected expertise places it in a strong position to make a real difference on behalf of the dairy sector.”
