Emmi alliance with Nestlé

SWITZERLAND – Nestle Switzerland and Emmi have come to an agreement whereby they will pool their facilities in the milk sector.

The result of this will be that Nestle’s fresh products will be produced in Emmi’s facilities in the future, which will also have responsibility for the distribution of the products. Nestle employees at its Hirzel, Zurich plant will be retained by Emmi, while Emmi will offer milk delivery contracts to over 200 milk producers currently supplying the plant.

The two companies will continue to handle the development, marketing and sales of their products separately. However, they are also looking to improve their product integration, and Nestle plans to invest in around 4% of Emmi’s capital stock.
