USA – The Worldwide Food Expo (WWFE) has proved more popular than ever before this year, attracting 28,000 visitors from over 100 countries.

The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA), which organised the event, was also delighted to see over 1,200 exhibitors at the show, which took place in Chicago.

The IDFA also awarded this year’s 2003 Supplier Excellence Awards to Chr Hansen, Pecan Deluxe Candy Company, Scholle Corporation and Tetra Pak.

Chr Hansen, nominated by Glanbia Foods, was awarded for its work in the cheese industry, especially for its ingredients innovations, while Huhtamaki was recognised for its achievements in the ice cream and frozen dessert industry.

The ice cream and frozen dessert industry was also why the Pecan Deluxe Candy Company was nominated by Wells’ Dairy, because it was able to keep its products fresh and interesting, as was true of Scholle Corporation, nominated by Country Fresh. Tetra Pak was nominated by Schroeder Milk Company for its service to the milk and milk products industry.
