CANADA/USA – Saputo has announced the takeover of the business relating to the Treasure Cave and Nauvoo blue cheese brands from ConAgra Foods.

The company, which is Canada’s largest dairy processor, has also acquired certain blue cheese related assets from the company, but terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Treasure Cave is the number one brand of blue cheese in the USA retail market segment. The Treasure Cave line also includes Feta and Italian hard cheeses.

The takeover positions Saputo as the leader in the blue cheese category in the USA retail segment, and the annual revenue generated by the purchased business represents approximately $20 million (
