Allum to chair UK dairy task force
Kate Allum has been appointed to succeed Tim Bennett as chair of the Dairy Roadmap Task Force. The Dairy Roadmap is a supply chain initiative that was established to minimise the industry’s environmental impact. It is a living document and targets are kept constantly under review. Chairmanship rotates between producer and processor organisations and Kate Allum has been nominated by Dairy UK and appointed by the task force to lead this important activity for the next two years.
Allum is chief executive of First Milk and a board member and treasurer of Dairy UK.
Commenting on her appointment Kate says: “I attended my first Dairy Roadmap meeting last week and was pleased to see that we have good engagement right along the supply chain. We have a strong base to build on, and the opportunity to learn from the work that other pan-industry initiatives like Dairy 2020 have done, in order to make our supply chain more sustainable.”
