Granarolo grows abroad with the European Programme of the Chafea agency
The Granlatte Granarolo Group is the beneficiary of the Milk & Dairy – The European Dairy Quality programme, promoted by the European Consumer, Health and Food Executive Agency (Chafea) and funded by the European Union, to support and promote its dairy products throughout the world, in particular those obtained from high quality milk, distinguished by high organoleptic and nutritional quality, tracked and guaranteed in terms of food safety. The target countries involved in the promotion initiatives are China, South Korea, Libya and New Zealand, traditional less interesting for the Italian companies in the industry.
The Group, already present with its own references in 75 countries, has opted to focus on these areas where Italian agri-food companies have little penetration.
In China, South Korea and Libya the strategy is based on promoting products that are distinguished in terms of the highest possible food safety, quality and taste. Granarolo is the only Italian company that has obtained the certification of the Chinese government authorities to export baby milk in that country.
In New Zealand, a more mature market, open to the consumption of a broader, more heterogeneous range of dairy products, Granarolo has started to export High Quality product.
The first of the three phases of the project, lasting 36 months overall, has been completed with the achievement of 62% of the three-year growth targets; in particular, the target growth achieved has been 71.9% in China, 119.4% in South Korea, 17% in New Zealand, while Libya – for purely political reasons – will be able to yield results only in the next two years.
