DMK gets the gold

Deutsches Milchkontor (DMK) has received the Gold seal of quality from EcoVadis, which dedicate itself to assess sustainability in global supply chains.

In the EcoVadis CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) survey, the DMK Group received 74 out of 100 points. The average of all rated large German companies in 2018 was 46.4 out of 100 points.

EcoVadis assesses the performance of corporate CSR management across 21 themes in four areas: environment, labour and human rights, business ethics and sustainable sourcing, and complies with international CSR standards such as the Global Reporting Initiative, the United Nations Global Compact and ISO 26000. It takes into account 190 purchasing categories and 150 countries.

“The Gold Award from EcoVadis is both a recognition and an incentive for us”, says Ingo Müller, CEO of the DMK Group. “It confirms that we are on the right path with our DMK 2020 sustainability strategy and our Milkmaster program.”

Milkmaster defines aspects of responsible milk production and promotes animal welfare and sustainability in milk production.

According to DMK, the sustainability strategy pursues the goal of uniting economic success with the needs of employees and cooperative members, as well as society’s requirements for the environment and animal welfare.
