Flavorchem opens new Pilot Plant

Provider of flavour and colour solutions, Flavorchem Corporation, is continuing its commitment to innovation with a new fully-automated, custom-designed thermal processing unit.

At the state-of-the-art unit, Flavorchem will be able to simulate HTST, UHT and aseptic conditions with both indirect heating and direct steam injection, allowing products to be tested prior to production.

“We are privileged to work with some of the most progressive and dynamic companies in our industry. Our customers are leaders in their respective categories and push us to help solve challenges that come from innovation, while delivering a great taste experience for their end-user”, said Ken Malinowski, president of Flavorchem. “Our new equipment is an extremely valuable resource to help us continue to meet the evolving needs of our customer.”

The capabilities of the pilot thermal processing equipment will substantially benefit a variety of Flavorchem’s customers.  The ability to run the customer’s actual product or base in the customer-supplied packaging allows developers to formulate flavors that are optimised for production. This approach accelerates brand owners’ speed to market while providing full confidence that the flavour will perform in the finished product the same way it did on a lab scale. The equipment can run a variety of products including beverages, fillings, sauces, soups, ice cream, yogurt and more.
