Wyke Farms appoints new chairman

Wyke Farms, the UK’s largest independent cheese producers and producers of renewable energy, has announced the retirement of John Clothier as chairman; Paul Hardwick will now be taking on the official role and title.

Hardwick has been with Wyke Farms for 30 years, previously working at accountancy firm, Grant Thornton. Hardwick is a qualified chartered accountant and has successfully worked with Wyke Farms as finance director, helping to guide the business and the Clothier family over the years.

Rich Clothier, third generation cheesemaker and managing director at Wyke Farms, said: “Paul has a detailed understanding of the needs of the business, our people and our customers, he will help to provide the stability that we need in these challenging times”.

John Clothier, second generation cheesemaker, will officially retired from the role of chairman with immediate effect. He has worked in the family business since childhood and has over 70 years’ experience of cheese making in the dairy industry. He will remain close to the company and step into an advisory role to help steer the family business.
