Gmundner Dairy, Austria’s third-largest milk processor, has announced a 6% increase in turnover for 2010 to EUR170 million – and the board is so happy with the sales in the present year that it predicts a 10% rise for this year too. The 300 million kg/year processor sold over 8000 tonnes of mainly cottage cheese last year. But main product and a real speciality of the three-plant dairy is ESL and UHT drinking milks with some 45% of production exported.
The extra income is helping with expansion. Some EUR25m being invested this year in a 4,500 square metre extension of the firm headquarters.
