The 2011 European Dairy Farmers (EDF) congress, is due to take place at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire from 30th June to 2nd July. It will feature seminars and discussions investigating how the industry can adapt to future market challenges and the technologies that will enable farmers to improve herd management.
The EDF is a network of dairy farmers and serves as a forum for dairy farmers in all European countries. Last year’s congress was held in Northern Italy, but for 2011 the event is returning to Stoneleigh Park where the EDF was founded in 1990.
This year’s congress is being sponsored by Fullwood Limited and will investigate the future of milk production and the technologies that are likely to shape the way dairy cows are managed. The three-day congress will include a series of lectures, workshops and panel discussions on a range of topics including costs of production, automation technology, progressive herd health management and key profit drivers.
Delegates will also have the opportunity to visit six different farms including two dairy units which have recently been installed with the latest rotary and rapid exit milking systems from Fullwood.
