Arla forms Norwegian partnership
Swedish dairy Arla and the Norwegian milk processors’ body Tine Norske Meierier have announced the signing of a co-operation agreement. The move will see the forging of closer ties between the two countries’ dairy industries.
Driving the new pact, according to Tine managing director Einar Enger, are concerns over the impact of increasing consolidation of processors in neighbouring countries.
The Norwegian industry no longer feels it can stand alone, says Enger, following Arla’s decision to work with Denmark’s MD Foods in a joint venture worth 5 billion Euros.
