Arla Foods expands in Denmark
Arla Foods extends its home base further with the purchase of cheese specialist Faurholt in Denmark. The new buy was a family-owned dairy currently processing around 45 million kg milk annually with major products fine smoked cheeses mainly marketed in Danish, and some German, delicatessens.
It could be that the Faurholt products, made from milk produced on the island of Funen, will become better known to a much wider spectrum of consumers because Arla reportedly aims to continue production of the smoked specialities with the added boost of its worldwide marketing arm.
